Welcome to Madam Doula!
Before becoming a doula, I studied Russian and Eurasian Studies and History at George Mason University. I met and married my partner-in-crime, John, during my senior year of college. I completed the majority of my master’s degree in Education and Curriculum Development before realizing that teaching high school history wasn’t for me. It was after taking birth and postpartum doula trainings that I knew I was finally on the right path! In the past two years, I have attended over 60 births and completed hundreds of hours of postpartum support.

Outside of birth work, I love spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I was raised Russian-American, so the Russian language and culture is an important part of my life. I come from a large, close-knit family, which is part of the reason I value the concept of a village of support. If you’ve seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you have an idea of what my family is like!

On weekends, you can find me in the kitchen whipping up a new recipe or tending to my garden. Gardening is a major passion of mine, and my husband and I have spent the past two summers turning our small backyard space into a bountiful vegetable garden.
