At 19 years old, I attended my first homebirth and got a quick glimpse of what I knew I wanted my future to look like. New to this corner of the world, I soon collected a new vocabulary word, “doula,” that would become my career path. I quickly became certified as a birth doula and a childbirth educator and began serving families as they welcomed children earth-side. Five years later, I extended my skillset to include postpartum support as I witnessed the lack of care and resources for new mothers. Today, I’m a mother and continue pursuing my passion by “mothering the mothers” in this work.
