Calm, Advocate, Warm
Birth Doula
As a DONA International Certified Birth Doula serving Northern Virginia, I provide steady, evidence-based support through pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum. I trained under renowned DONA trainer Robin Elise Weiss, former president of DONA International and Lamaze International, who has attended over 1,500 births and trained more than 10,000 doulas. My training includes birth doula care, childbirth education, and lactation basics, providing a strong clinical and practical foundation.
I am also a Certified VBAC Doula (CVD, The VBAC Link), with focused training in supporting mothers planning vaginal birth after cesarean. I have additional training in bereavement support, allowing me to care for families across a wide range of birth outcomes with composure and sensitivity.
My work centers on helping families stay grounded, informed, and confident during labor. I provide hands-on support, assess labor progress in real time, and use positioning, movement, and environment to support physiologic birth while navigating hospital dynamics effectively.
I have experience in local hospitals, birth centers, and home birth settings, including experience in complex situations such as emergency transfers and shoulder dystocia while still ensuring positive outcomes for the clients. When birth shifts unexpectedly, I help families stay calm, understand their options, and move forward with clarity.
As your doula, I provide:
• Continuous labor support
• Evidence-based comfort techniques and positioning
• Real-time guidance through each stage of labor
• Partner coaching for confident involvement
• Support navigating medical decisions and hospital environments
• Practical postpartum support focused on recovery and routine
If you’re looking for a Northern Virginia doula who brings clinical awareness, calm presence, and skilled, hands-on support to your birth team, I would be honored to work with your family.
