Calm, Advocate, Warm

Birth Doula

Before becoming a birth doula, I spent 15 years traveling the world in the international security and relations space, working alongside communities striving for stability, dignity, and hope. Through all those experiences, one truth became unshakable: the greatest need for peace often begins much closer to home----within the household itself.

After watching friend after friend disappointed by their birth experience, I started to share the resources I'd learned from my own birth team. I slowly started to realize that I would also love to more formally support growing families in a space that is distorted by the noise of many options and overwhelming resources. Birth is one of the most sacred transitions a family will ever experience, and it shapes so much of what comes after. Whether through birth work or family life education, my goal is to offer the coaching, education, and steady support needed to help every mother experience a dignified, peaceful birth and every family feel strengthened rather than overwhelmed by the journey. I leverage evidence-based resources while advocating for what will bring you and your family peace. As your doula, I bring calm:

  • grounded guidance through each stage of labor

  • hands-on comfort measures and positioning support

  • partner coaching that empowers fathers to feel steady, capable, and connected

  • a quest, reassuring presence in moments of intensity

  • postpartum planning rooted in the wisdom of rest, nourishment, and rhythm

With experience in both homebirth and hospital settings, families often tell me my presence helps them feel "anchored," "safe," and "never alone" ---- and that my support allows both mother and father to stay emotionally connected and focused on welcoming their baby with confidence.

When I'm not supporting families as a birth doula, I'm serving as communications manager for my local church, chasing around our two littles with my husband, experimenting in the kitchen, or enjoying a glass of wine.

What Clients Say About Lacie

Lacie was amazing and she takes her time to understand what your goals are. I was a first time mom who wanted a home birth and couldn’t have done it without her. Through it all, she always offered support and was ready to be there whenever I needed her. Her assistance during labor was crucial. I had excruciating back labor for almost 8 hours and her and my husband continuously did counter pressure the whole time. There is no way that my husband would have been able to tackle this on his own due to the strength and physical exhaustion that results from applying this pressure. Her presence allowed my husband to fully support me emotionally which was paramount to the natural birthing process. She kept me moving in different positions during the babies descent which led to a shorter labor. She was encouraging and gentle, but never pushy if there was a position that I wasn’t quite ready for. I couldn’t have done a natural birth without her, and her presence made all the difference.
